End User Macro,VB Programs Automation?

Currently one customer has requested automation of end user programs that have no is support to be automated.And only information we have is its in Macro and VB and there are some 800+ of them.

Would it be a)possible for automation b)advantageous

for both points is hard to tell without having a brief analysis of the process to be automated
