# Why can't Edge WebDriver be downloaded automatically successfully? ## **Issue Description** : In the 'Open Browser' activity using with Edge browser, 'AutomaticallyDowloadWebDriver'set as ture, if the Edge browser was upgrade to 125.0.2535.85 or hight version. Error message 'The specified browser requires a newer WebDriver but there was an error downloading it' might be encountered. ![](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/uipath/original/4X/0/6/b/06b9f74c60f13975d88e455b925b10c472646fc7.png) ## **Root Cause** : New edge update mirror for the newest web driver linkage is broken at the Microsoft level so manual intervention and the addition of a proper web driver are needed. ## **Resolution** : Follow the steps below to download the WebDriver manually. **1**. Please kindly download correct version of edgewebdriver using the following link. [Microsoft Edge WebDriver | Microsoft Edge Developer](https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/webdriver/?form=MA13LH) **2**. After that, please unzip it and put the msedgedriver.exe file in the following location. Download Folder Location - _C:\Users\{user}\AppData\Local\UiPath\WebDriverExe_ **3**. Then you need to add the above location to the PATH environment variable and reboot the machine.
