Easiest way to set VM for running bots

Hey guys,

I was wondering if I want to get a VM to run my bots, which is the easiest and cheapest way?

Adrian

@raool90

Do you have Orchestrator and all ? And also which type of BOT license did you have ?

I am using Community Edition

So the question is more about VM than UiPath

Hi @raool90,

I have previously used Azure VM and in azure marketplace you can get the readymade official build of UiPath Robot Template. UiPath installs everything for you and all you need is to link it to your community cloud orchestrator. The windows license is a cost which you may have to consider as well.

When it comes to saving cost, I had a VM on schedule so that I only incurred the VM storage cost in Azure and since the UiPath robot host service runs automatically after restart, it automatically connects to your Orchestrator when the cam turns on via schedule.

I am not aware an official robot template for Google cloud or Amazon web services. UiPath loves Azure :slight_smile:

That said, you can install the robot exe yourself in any GCP or AWS VMs as well, it is just much faster to setup in Azure.

Thanks Jeevith

What’s the price for running an Azure VM for you?

Hi @raool90,

To be frank it was sometime last year and I dont quite remember which of VM in my billing was UiPath robot VM. But as you see I was experimenting with it and did not use it extensively. The values are in Norwegian Kroner.
