Downloading Netsuite saved searches with UIPath

Hi team,

We have multiple NetSuite saved searches created and need to download those reports. Currently, UI automation is in place, but we are looking to replace it with an API/Connector option to avoid UI errors.

In NetSuite actions, I see the download file action, but that expects the download file ID to be present in the NetSuite file cabinet, whereas we have saved search URLs.

Has anyone used this approach to download files using UiPath and the NetSuite connector?

Hi @tejaskumar.darji ,
Try with these steps:

  1. Use NetSuite SuiteTalk REST API, RESTlets, or SuiteQL to retrieve the saved search data directly instead of downloading it through the UI.
  2. The UiPath NetSuite connector’s Download File action only works for files that already exist in the File Cabinet and requires a File ID.
  3. A saved search URL itself is not considered a file and therefore cannot be downloaded using the Download File activity.

Thanks

Hi @tejaskumar.darji

For NetSuite saved searches, the Download File action may not work directly with the saved search URL, since it expects a file ID from the File Cabinet.

If the saved search is available through the NetSuite API, I would suggest using the NetSuite connector/API to retrieve the search results and then save them as a file, instead of automating the UI.

You can also check if the saved search can be accessed using a SuiteScript/RESTlet and call that from UiPath.

I can see an activity to download the saved search. How about it? Has anyone used it? Any experience.

Hi @tejaskumar.darji ,
If the activity meets your reporting requirements, it’s generally a better approach than UI automation because it’s more stable, maintainable, and less prone to page or layout changes.

Thanks

Hi @tejaskumar.darji,

Currently, some users are facing an API version issue with the NetSuite Scope. I would suggest waiting for an update from UiPath. If it is working for you, that’s great.

Thanks!

Hi @tejaskumar.darji

Saved Search URLs are different from files stored in the NetSuite File Cabinet, so the Download File action may not work directly with a Saved Search URL.

You can consider using NetSuite SuiteTalk REST API to execute the Saved Search and retrieve the results, instead of downloading through the UI.

If the UiPath NetSuite connector doesn’t provide an action for Saved Search results, you can use an HTTP Request/API call with the required NetSuite authentication.

Hi @tejaskumar.darji,

You can use the latest NetSuite package. This issue has been resolved.

Thanks!

How do we convert a saved search to a SuiteQL query?
