I am using digitize document activity for extracting the data from a pdf and keep it as a text. Is there any possibility of ai units consumption here if so how we will be able to analyze or calculate the same
No, digitization doesn’t consume AI units but you are saying you are extracting data from the document that’s called extraction which might consume AI units depends on whether you’re using DU OCR, Intelligent Form Extractor, ML Extractor, or Generative Extractor

No, the Digitize Document activity does not consume AI Units. Its job is only to convert the document into machine-readable text (OCR).
AI Units are consumed only when you use AI-powered models to understand or extract information from the document, such as Document Understanding extractors or Generative AI-based extraction/classification. Simply digitizing a document into text does not use AI Units.

The answer depends on the technology used within the Digitize Document activity.
Converting a PDF into machine-readable text does not consume AI Units. However, AI Unit consumption can occur when using AI-powered Document Understanding services.
You can also monitor actual usage through the Automation Cloud licensing and consumption reports, which provide a detailed breakdown of AI Unit consumption. If you’re not sure about the consumption, I highly suggest trying it with one PDF page and not running your whole process, as it can get expensive faster than you might think.
