A lot of the predictive model powered features seem to cost money in the form of units. Does healing agent cost money? Is there a free way to use it?
Yes, it also costs units.
The consumables, be that Maestro, agents or now healing agents are pretty darn expensive.
Maestro being the hardest one to justify the cost of in my opinion considering it offers little unique functionality compared to doing Orchestration in Studio and costs alot of units per job.
Healing sits somewhere in the middle, you do get some free ‘healing credits’, but if you have a process that breaks, but you dont notice fast and you get alot of transactions through, resulting in lots of heals, you’ll burn through them fast and the heals with either stop or you’ll be paying for each heal.
Unlike Maestro I havent costed it out to see how much the healing agent is worth it, but for a business critical process I can see the value in ensuring you dont get a fail instead in certain scenarios.
Yes, it will cost you SKU. Here is the detailed licensing documentation
Attached screenshot you can refer that Heals units are there.
To know, Goto Admin–> Organization-> Lincenses–> Consumables
Here you will get information about your Healing units.
Hope it helps!!
I’d love to hear if they have any architectural inputs on how to stop runaway costs. In my experience with Document Understanding, the visibility on how units are being consumed is not where I’d like it to be.
I get UiPath is a platform-as-a-service and we can build our own workarounds but still
Thank you. My organization does not have that information there when I go to that page. I wonder if we are just using a preview version of Healing Agent.
Yeah, I think they are radically changing the platform costs by making the Platform SKU mandatory.
I find this a very difficult decision but the decision makers on it seem to be 100% committed to it as a good idea.
When adding on all the consumables its expecting a customer to be paying perhaps 400-500% more operational costs a year, which is a huge number and I think although alot of the stuff is very cool, having to now play for the platform already makes any business case have a lower ROI, and so its becoming harder and harder to make good business cases and I dont seem them addressing the cost effectiveness of these things.
I wish we could get better dialog on it, as I really love alot of the new features, but the price points are just too high for me to do.
Alot of their cool new examples are things that if you costed out can be triple the price annually of it that process was ran manually with humans, and I think RPA was always supposed to be about being cheaper than a human.
