Difference Between Tenant and Personal Workspace

Someone please explain what is the difference between TEnant and personal workspace in UiPath?

Also please tell me what’s the difference between Publishing process in Tenant and Personal Workspace?

Publishing Process in Tenant:

  • When you publish a process in a Tenant, the automation project becomes available for execution by all users within that Tenant.
  • The published process can be assigned to specific robots or executed through the Orchestrator’s job scheduling capabilities.
  • Users with the appropriate permissions in the Tenant can view, edit, and execute the published process.

Publishing Process in Personal Workspace:

  • When you publish a process in your Personal Workspace, it remains private and accessible only to you.
  • Other users within the Tenant cannot see or access your published process in their Personal Workspaces.
  • The published process can still be executed on the robots assigned to you, but it won’t be visible to others.

  1. Tenant:
  • A Tenant represents a logical unit within the UiPath Orchestrator platform that serves as a container for resources, users, and automation projects. It is typically used in UiPath Orchestrator, which is the centralized automation management platform.
  • Tenants allow you to segregate and organize your automation resources based on different departments, projects, or business units in an enterprise environment.
  • Each Tenant has its own set of users, roles, and permissions, enabling access control and security.
  • Automation projects published to a Tenant can be executed by multiple users with appropriate permissions and access.
  1. Personal Workspace:
  • A Personal Workspace is a dedicated space within UiPath Studio that serves as an isolated environment for individual developers or users.
  • It allows developers to work on their automation projects independently, without the need for a centralized Orchestrator.
  • Personal Workspaces are useful for individual learning, experimentation, and development purposes.
  • Automation projects created in a Personal Workspace are not shared with other users by default, and they can only be executed locally on the machine where UiPath Studio is installed.

Hi @Salman_Faries

→ A “Tenant” is the top-level organizational unit in UiPath Automation Cloud. It represents a logical container that groups users, robots, processes, and resources together within an organization.
→ Each Tenant has its own dedicated resources, such as Orchestrator instance, environments, and folders, ensuring separation and isolation of automation data and activities.
→ In a multi-tenant setup, each Tenant can have its own separate licensing, authentication, and data access settings.

Personal Workspace-
→ A “Personal Workspace” is an individual space within UiPath Automation Cloud that belongs to a specific user.
→ It is a personal area where users can create, manage, and organize their automation projects, processes, and resources.
→ Personal Workspaces offer a private and secure environment for users to experiment, develop, and test automation solutions.

Hope it helps!!
