Device ID already activated, please help me

License type(Free, Trial/License code): Free

Studio/Robot version: 2018.2.3

Current behavior: Device Id already activated

Hi all,

I just received my company laptop today and when I want to activate the studio,
following error on device id occurred. I suspect the laptop just cloned machine id and previous owner of the laptop probably already activated the enterprise version.

So my question is:

How to inform UIPATH team to delete my device id and is there any way to change the device id?

my device id: pCK/jS78n/9jM8fO/EXe

Hi @ClaudiaH, Its blocking you because you have activated trail license or not as you have mentioned in above past but if you are getting this error that means you cannot activate community edition. UPDATE: The error is resolved starting with 2019.4 version. Please get the latest Studio version. Device ID already activated - as I have mentioned before, this happens when you previously activated your Studio with a Trial key and after expiring you want to go back to using Community Edition. From now on, the nasty licensing error Cannot use Community Edition on this machine after activating a trial or Enterprise is gone. So if you used a Trial key before and were unable to use Community Edition after it expired, go get your hands on the latest Studio 2019.4: https://www.uipath.com/developers/community-edition-download

Hi @mashy2,

Did you do a clean uninstall, by first uninstalling the studio and deleting all the old folders of uipath and then install again the new version
