Desktop Video Recorder Activities - Issue

Type of reusable component: Desktop Video Recorder Actvities

I was exploring the winners of the recent Hackaton and checked out Yoichi Suetakes Desktop Video Recording activities. However I am having trouble using them. I have downloaded the ffmpeg. exe file and the activities are not giving any errors and saving the .mp4 file (i have also tried wmv and avi). However, when i try to open the file and play the recorded video it does not contain anything. The video maybe plays for 0,5 seconds even though the recording is 1 minute.

Current Behavior:

Saved video file does not contain any recordings

Expected Behavior:

Saved video file contains recordings of the process running on my desktop.

Me too at Studio 2018.4.5. :joy:
I’m developing for my customer’s flow. And my client’s Studio version is 2018.4.5.
This activity is really useful. So i want to use it in my client’s flow.
Is order studio’s environment out of scope?
2019.10 or 2020.10 are work fine. :+1:

As this package was made in 2018, I guess it will also work on 20184.5.
In order to isolate the causes, can you try the following command in command prompt?

ffmpeg.exe -f gdigrab -draw_mouse 1 -i desktop -y -pix_fmt yuv420p out.mp4

(Press q, it will terminate.)

If out.mp4 has no data, ffmpeg settings should be checked.

Thanks for your replay!
I have checked the command in command prompt.
And i have gotten below notice message. So i will try to adjust this pc’s ffmpeg settigs.

Thank you for sharing your result.

Error message shows

height not divisible by 2

So can you try the following from command prompt?

ffmpeg.exe -f gdigrab -draw_mouse 1 -i desktop -y -pix_fmt yuv420p -vf crop=w=1920:h=1080:x=0:y=0 out.mp4

if it works, can you try to modify crop parameter and set it in ExtraOptionString property ( like "-vf crop=w=1920:h=1080:x=0:y=0" ).
