Custom Library erroring when having list mail messages as output argument (Message too big exception)

I’m building a custom library to create a filter based on different fields we input and then use get outlook messages to return the list of mail messages as the output argument. It gives an error saying:

“Message: Could not retrieve the result of the job execution. This might be because a message was too large to process.”

It always occurs at the end of execution. I understand that it may be that the list of mailmessages value is too big (as when I change it from an out argument to a variable, it works fine.) However, I would really like this custom activity to output a list of mail messages arg type just like the get outlook mail messages activity does. Please advise!
