Creating/Modifying Mapping

Hello Guys,
1.i am trying to create/modify the field mapping-datatype change in kibana 4.5.1.

2.On kibanaa 5.5.2 after doing some study and hence created new index with correct mapping and done re-indexing the new field is visible but data is not flowing in the new field.

for the first point we need to use console i understand but the 2nd point is still a problem please advise
