Could not load file or assembly 'System.Diagnostics.DiagnosticSource, Version=8.0.0.0 in Studio 23.10.x when UiAutomation 25.10.x is used.

Issue Description

  • An error is encountered when using the Excel Classic ReadRange activity with UiAutomation.Activities 25.10.x in Studio 23.10.x.
  • The issue is not observed when using the same activity in Studio 24.10.x.
  • Packages built in Studio 23.10.x target .NET Core 6, which is not compatible with 'System.Diagnostics.DiagnosticSource, Version=8.0.0.0'.
  • Packages built in Studio 24.10.x target .NET 8, which supports the required version of DiagnosticSource, allowing the activity to function properly.

Resolution

This has been fixed in UiPath.UiAutomation.Activities package version 25.10.7.
