Hi, I have the IP address for my virtual machine and am following a tutorial where it says to connect into the VM using the IP so you can install the necessary apps.
How can I connect to the VM, which application should I use with the IP?

- Press
Win + Rto open the Run dialog. - Type
mstscand press Enter to open the Remote Desktop Connection window. - Enter the IP address of your VM in the “Computer” field.
- Click “Connect.”
- You may be prompted to enter your username and password.

Is the IP provided by the client ?
If yes did they asked to install any Vpn before trying to connect with RDP ?

I believe my company does have a VPN installed though, would this change anything?
May i know which VPN is Installed in your Machine?
I do not have a VPN on this machine actually
Ok the error might occur because of following reasons:
- If you dont have access to the provided IP you can’t login, you need to contact your IT Team
- Check with Your IP address once again and the Virtual Machine should be turned on in the background.
- Confirm with the team to ensure whether any VPN is required before trying to access the RDP
The provided IP is just made on orchestrator, no one owns it or anything and it is set up on an account within the company
could you please provide the screenshot or the steps on how you got the IP address from the Orchestrator
I went to the VM pool and then the VM
Clicked on the i in the circle next to remote desktop enabled and it brought up this page

This is what I used to create the VM and get the details
I am not using a VPN and I do not have any network restrictions but i still cannot connect - to confirm do i put the IP labelled “Public” in to the remote desktop?
