Community Edition Issue renewing free license

badita having this issue with my aws machine as well. Need to install.

Could you please check

Device ID

Hi Ahmed,

Checked your device ID and it appears there are 7 licenses on this one. This means you cannot use the CE. Please request the 2017.1 Trial: Enterprise RPA Platform Trial - Automation Software | UiPath

You will receive the download link and Trial code on email.

It seems like AWS generates the same device id for multiple instances.

We don’t have 7 machines running anything.

Do you know of any way to ensure a unique device id on AMazon?

I think as long as the machine is not cloned, the Device ID will be unique.

Hi, I have an issue with CE, as below

Can you please support?

Hi MariOla,

It seems the CE license has expred. Please follow this link in order to renew: UiPath

The think is that I’m not able to do that:

Ovi, upon a lot of research seems like if the machine is instantiated using one of the standard images that AWS provides they have the same Device ID. Seems like wemay have been able to find one that works for now.

That’s great, Ahmed, i’m glad that you’ve sorted it out.

My colleague is having trouble renewing the free license for his UiPath Studio Community edition. He follows the steps but keeps getting this error on clicking activate in the UiPath registration dialog.

Can someone assist with a resolution? We have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling UiStudio community edition using a new download from the UiPath site.

Have you renewed your CE? It’s explained in this topic, some posts above:

I am having the same issue. I entered the site provided to renew the community license but it still says I need to renew my license. I tried uninstalling and installing the Community Edition again but it did not work.

Did you previously have installed the Trial version? - meaning the .msi file?

@ovi, yes, looks like I have the UiPathPlatform.msi in my Downloads folder so I probably installed that one before installing the Community Edition.

Hi, I’m having the same issue with my renewal. I clicked on the link to renew my license and I was told to restart my CE. However, the issue still persists after I’ve restarted my UiPath CE. Is there a limit to the number of times CE can be renewed?

@ovi, I am also facing the same issue. I have tried to renew using the link, it says renewed but issue still persist. Below is my device Id, can you please help.

Activation failed with error: 0
Error description: No Error
License status: Server License Expired

Device ID: vzZGuwzsbGhejfmnabeY
Computer: xxxxxx
User Name: xxxxxxx

Ok, give me some time to check the Device ID.

In the meantime, you’ve always used the Start free option when first activating Studio?

Yes, I have used Start free option.

HI ovi, I also have this exact problem. My device Id is y+VZiReqzfWuO4ukFra5.

I have completed the “Continue using UiPath Community Edition” request form 2-3 times but always when I try starting Studio, I get the error shown above. (Activation Failed etc)

I have tried requesting a new Community Edition Download (just to try) but have not received the email with it.

Regards, Dave
