Chrome Installed but UiPath Showing “Browser Not Installed” Error While Using Open Browser Activity

I am facing an issue while trying to automate using Google Chrome in UiPath.

Although Chrome is properly installed on my system and working fine manually, when I try to use the Open Browser activity (both Modern and Classic activities), UiPath throws an error stating that the browser is not installed.

Here’s what I have already tried:

  • Reinstalled Google Chrome
  • Reinstalled the UiPath Chrome Extension
  • Restarted UiPath Studio
  • Restarted the system
  • Tried both Classic Open Browser and Use Application/Browser (Modern) activities
  • Verified that Chrome is set as the default browser

Despite all this, the issue still persists.

Could someone please help me understand:

  • Why UiPath is not detecting the installed Chrome browser?
  • Is there any configuration or registry setting I might be missing?
  • Any additional troubleshooting steps I should try?

Pls check the group policy:

First Go to Home → Tools → UiPath Extensions → Chrome → Install

Then in Chrome, go to: chrome://policy
Ensure UiPath extension is not blocked by organization policies.

Sometimes extension detection fails without admin rights. Check with IT admin if issue persists.
