Can't find taxonomy on uipath studio

Hi,

i can’t find the taxonomy on UiPath studio

@Soudios,

Unstall the package UiPath.InteligentOCR.activities package.

Go to Manage Packages-> All Packages-> Type the name-> Click Install-> Click Save.

This issue occurred due to the incompatibility of the .NET framework on your machine. Please update to the latest .NET framework for better compatibility.

For a smooth update process, refer to the following YouTube video by @mukeshkala to get the compatible version.

Hi @Soudios ,

you need to install the package from manage packages
install the UiPath.InteligentOCR.actitvites then you can see taxonomy in the ribbon panel.

i have the package but i cannot see the button

can you reinstall nd try

Hi @Soudios ,

Could you also try changing the version to a non-preview version and check if it works ?

Also, let us know if it is a Cross Platform or Windows Compatible project.

Hi @Soudios
If you have selected cross-platform projects taxonomy will not be available there are two compatibility projects windows and cross-platform please read the documetation below :slight_smile:

You need to choose windows compatibility for cross-platform UiPath intelliegent ocr package is not compatible with cross-platform

its a cross plateforme i think, where i can see that ?

@Soudios,

You will have to create DU project on Orchestrator and use the project in the Studio. Follow this documentation.

Hi @Soudios when you select document understanding template you would find compatibility section please see below screenshot make sure you select windows

Thanks

what is the difference between cross plateform and windows ?

Hi @Soudios

Windows: Utilizes the IntelligentOCR activity package, tailored for Windows projects.
Cross-platform: Uses the Document Understanding activity package, designed for cross-platform projects.
In cross-platform project no need of taxonomy in modern projects we can directly select projects in document understanding from cloud please see the below screenshot:

Read the documentation once
Document Understanding - Document Understanding Process template

Thanks

for cross platform is it possible to have it on premise ? not in cloud ?

Cross platform works just the same as the Windows one but steamlines alot of stuff, for example you no longer need a taxonomy, it is inferred from the DU Project you connect it to, which is generally very very nice.

I don’t have an on-prem instance where I have the Document Understanding Center and AI Center enabled to check, but provided its up to date I am not aware of a technical limiation that would stop you. If you have the DU center and can make a project and deploy a skill, it should be available in the dropdown when you try the cross platform activities.
