Can Email Alerts Be Directed?

I help manage the platform and our internal customers want email alerting set up for their robots. I have set up this but it seems anybody in the tenant with view access to alerts is getting the alerts. There is no need for administrators to get these alerts but I cannot remove this from the role.

Is there a way to set up alerts so that only a certain role or email address receives them only?

You can enable alerts for a certain role… So I think you can create a new role and enable alerts, and add the users to that role whom you need to send alerts…

Additionally, under user settings of each user, there is an option to enable receive alert email option… This is in their user settings.

I think the role is the best option for you?
