Can Attended BOT work when user disconnects from VM?

Installer(.exe or .msi): 2019.4

License type(Free, Trial/License code): Attended BOT

Studio/Robot version: 2019.4

Current behavior: Fails when closing/minimizing VM

Screenshot: not available

Hi,

We have a process running on a virtual machine. It fails as soon as the user minimizes/disconnects from the VM.
I know an attended BOT cannot run on a locked screen. However, can it run on a VM when it is minimized? Can it run on a VM if the user starts the process and disconnects from the VM while the process is running? Technically, a user disconnecting from a VM means that the session on the VM is still unlocked, right?

Thanks!
Ben

Are you using Community or Enterprise edition of UIPath ?

Entreprise edition - we purchased unattended licences

Please check this thread and follow steps. And also make sure that we have to check Simulate type or Send Window Message to work in back ground.

Thanks laskhman. I know there are certain actions I have to modify (such click where it should have the option ‘‘simulate click’’ checked). Can we have actions that involve image recognition though?

Additionally, If a user has access via RDP to a VM, can the bot still work if he locks his own session/screen without locking the VM session executing the process?
It has been throwing errors when we tried it.

Thanks!
Ben

@Ben_RPA I have basically found the same as yourself when running the bot attended on the VM then accessing though RDP. No screenshot ability when minimised and clicks need to be send windows message or simulated. Not sure on OCR/image recognition. Also it wont run if the user locks their own session but not the VM. Would be good to have some more details on it though!
