Build your first automation - Getting to know StudioX

HI Olesya. Select Use Variable from the options then enter the MyUnicornName. That will act as the Save for Later option. I had the same question today.

This is a great intro module. There have been some updates to the menu options that I think warrants a new video. But other than that great experience.

Very clearly explained content. Will wait for another content to be uploaded soon.

It is interesting how much this parallels other solutions like Microsoft’s Power Automate. I am very much interested in getting to know more to see how it differentiates itself.

This is my first experience with RPA and it feels good to see my automation Run. I was not able to use outlook and the excel logins were not installed on my PC, but I was able to work around it and sent my first automation “Unicorn Name” via gmail.

This is a great knowledge resource!!

Thank you for the great tutorial!
The Steps are easy to follow, the videos made with love!

Kathi

It has been a well-explained and easy-to-follow course, I sincerily congratulate you.
However, I’m getting an exception error right at the end when I’m trying to run the project.
It says:
“Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.”
and crashes!
Other than that, everything went smoothly.

Thanks!

Very interesting and not very complicated, I can’t wait to learn more. I tested both Excel ang Google sheet examples.

I was excited when the bot started performing! However, I have run into the issue with the “Save for Later”. I was able to figure out how to enter the variable in the “Get This Text” section, but StudioX was still not happy. I tried looking up the solution online, but did not understand what info I was able to find. Not sure if something was updated… I’m on version 2022.0.5. Will try again to see if I can make everything work seemlessly.

Fantastic My first try went very fast while using Chrome  but I struggled earlier to use edge extension.

Hi Kyle. There is no difference in activity list appearance, you can simply use the search bar to search which activity you want to use drag it to the workflow and that’s it!

The video was very easy to follow for the first automation process.

I attached a unicorn gif for fun, Thanks! Great Tutorial

I am finding it extremely difficult to view the progrma nad simultaneosly perform the excersizes. I cannot watch the video and still keep the web browser page I need as the active page in a window. When I finally got the web browser added, and added the excel, I tried to add the Type Into activities and it refused to add. I tried several times from dragging, to typing, selecting and dragging etc. but the closest i ever got to having it actually show up in my panel, i got some error about a closed pipe. most of the time, I drag something over to the ‘drop activity’ shaded part, and when i release the mouse, it just disappears like i never did anything!!

I am very very very frustrated with the whole process.!!

Hi there,
When I start my studioX for the first time, it stuck in ‘restoring dependencies’ for quite a while and nothing happened. I searched and found that I had to go to setting, manage resource and uncheck official/marketplace before start my new project.
I hope this might be helpful for others.

Cheers!

Enjoy my first automation. Easy instruction to follow.

Im so excited about learn UiPath and every course are really easy to understand. Its flow is to good, userfriendly. Thanks!

I had a great first experience with StudioX. Everything made sense and was easy to follow. I only ran into one issue where the lesson asked me to choose the “save for later” option in the Get Text action, and it wasn’t there. I instead chose the clipboard option and I was able to get the desired result. I’m not sure if my issue had to do with my version of StudioX which is newer than the instructional video.

Looking forward to more training and I’m excited to create my first work-related automation.

The videos are great but seem outdated. The website seems to have evolved and the place to locate the installer has changed, required some detective work. The worst bit is, after all that, I’ve found out that StudioX can’t be installed on MacOS. A heads up before spending time with the courses would be nice, but even nicer would be a native MacOS version of StudioX.
Really want to keep on learning RPA…

I thought the lesson was good, but agree with many of the recent comments. The video is definitely outdated and needs updating to reflect current StudioX layout.
