Best way to pass data between executions of a process

Hello all,

I’m building a process that will help IT engineers triage helpdesk tickets. I intend to have it run as a scheduled job (every 15 minutes). The steps are as follows:

  1. Get the date and time when the ticket queue was last checked (lastSyncTime)
  2. Download tickets created since lastSyncTime
  3. Iterate over tickets and present data to an IT engineer
  4. Save the current date and time as the new value of lastSyncTime

I now have a partial process that successfully downloads tickets and iterates over them. I’m looking for a good way to pass the lastSyncTime value form one process execution to the next. I’m guessing using either assets or parameters in Orchestrator would work, as well as saving the lastSyncTime in a text file. My question is, what’s the “best practice” way of passing a datetime value from one execution of a scheduled process to the next?

Thank you,
Yury

I found that saving the lastSyncTime value in an Orchestrator asset at the end of process execution and retrieving it in the beginning of the next execution works well.
