It is really a pity that it is not possible to set the background mode on/off for each test case within a Studio project.
It would even be better be to (also) support such a setting for each of the test cases in the Orchestrator (Testmanager).
This would be much more logical, it would bring many improvemenents for the test executions and may decrease the execution time.
Of course this would only be possible / supported for non-UI-test-cases.
(Therefor this option must also be offered if there are some UI-actions in your Studio project, but only for the non-UI-test-cases.)
