Automation Suite - Troubleshooting - Missing Document Understanding in left pane menu for non-admin users

How to fix missing Document Understanding in left pane Menu?

Issue Description: Automation Suite - Troubleshooting - Missing Document Understanding in left pane menu for non-admin users even though they have valid licenses.

Root Cause: This is related to permission issue, required permissions need to be granted.

Resolution: For non-admin issues, explicitly grant permission for Document Understanding either at service level or project level.

  1. Have at least one of the following role out of the following:
  • DU Developer: acts as a project-level administrator who has permission to perform any action within a project
  • DU Model Trainer: has permission to modify certain document type settings and delete or upload documents
  • DU Viewer: has permissions to view certain features, but can't modify any settings within a project.

  1. Assign role at service level using following steps:
    1. Navigate to Admin > DefaultTenant > Services > Document Understanding > Manage Access > Assign the one of DU role

  1. Assign role at project level using following steps:
    1. Open the project, you will find Manage Access on left down side.

  1. Once the permissions are granted, the menu will be visible on left pane.
