Automation Suite does not let me save the Mail settings after "Test mail settings" succeeds

In Automation Suite 2023.10.5 , I go to Admin > Default (organization) > Mail Settings > Use custom mail settings and I fill the

  • hostname: my mail relay
  • domain: my domain
  • port: 25
  • timeout: 180000
  • Use TLS encryption: unchecked
  • Don’t use authentication: checked
  • username /password are greyed out because of the “Don’t use authentication”
  • Sender details:

When I click on “Test mail settings” I’m able to send a mail , and I get the “Successfully sent test email to zzzz@yyy.com”, and I can see that I receive the mail in my MS outlook account.

But the “Save” button (next to Test mail settings) is still greyed out, so I can’t save this configuration.

Anyone have any idea what I could do?

Hey, I remember there was a bug which I had raised recently to UiPath. For SMTP settings, we need to just enter a random data on the username and password field to save the settings. We also use unauthenticated SMTP and I was struggling with this issue for quite some time. Can you try adding a “.” or some random text in the username and password fields and save it?

I did raise this with UiPath Support on Sep 19th 2024 (2024-09-19) case #02471914.

If I uncheck “Don’t use authentication”, I can type on the username/password so I did and write ddd/ddd as username/password (literally ddd/ddd which is obviosly incorrect and fake). Then I enabled “Don’t use authentication” again, and went ahead with the “Test email settigns”, and now Save is enabled.

So to enable the Save button you need to type something in the username/password even if you don’t use authentication. And to be able to type something you need to uncheck “Don’t use authentication” temporarily.
