Total Rookie here with no formal IT background, but I am currently soaking myself with basic web tutorials, video tutorials and even podcasts on uipath and vb.net, and everything I come across related before formally starting on Uipath academy.
The thing is, the reason I started learning UIpath is because I see great potential to automate several tasks pertaining to a desktop HR application that we use in our HR consultancy firm. It is the most well known in Spain, used by thousands of HR firms btw.
However widespread the application is, the UI is pretty clunky, and prone to cause trouble to robots after my initial testing. I have pinpointed this issue because of two factors. The loads of windows one has to navigate to reach the target destination, and that from time to time those windows take a bit longer or a shorter to open up.
I know this might be a situacion in which to avoid the use of RPA, however, I am willing to give it a try. In your experience, what is your advice or best practices to use in a situation like the above?. Are there certain actions specially suitable to navigating unreliable UI´s?.
On a side note, I have heard the application has an API, would this be of any help.
