Unable to receive job-related notifications in Automation Cloud Orchestrator

In Automation Cloud Orchestrator, some users may not receive job-related notifications. Even if the individual notification settings for the target users have Automation Cloud notifications for the relevant folder and job-related events enabled, along with email notifications if needed, what settings should be checked if notifications are not being received?

Cause
To receive job-related notifications, it is necessary to not only have the individual notification settings but also to meet the required permissions for the notification events.

For job-related notifications, both tenant-level Alerts View permission and folder-level Jobs View permission are needed. For notifications requiring multiple permissions, those permissions must be either directly assigned to the user or granted from the same group.

If the sources of the required permissions are separated, the notifications may not be sent.

Solution

Please check the following:

  1. Ensure that, in the target user’s notification settings, Automation Cloud notifications for the relevant folder and job-related events are enabled, along with email notifications if necessary.

  2. At the tenant level, verify that the target user or the group to which the target user belongs has been granted Alerts View permission.

  3. In the target folder, confirm that the target user or the group to which the target user belongs has been assigned a role that includes Jobs View permission.

  4. Ensure that Alerts View permission and Jobs View permission are either directly assigned to the user or granted from the same group.

  5. For users that should only have access to certain folders, assigning a common group to those folders may broaden their access range. In such cases, create a dedicated group for the target folder and grant the necessary tenant and folder permissions to the same group, or directly assign both permissions to the target user.

Simply having some form of access rights to the folder does not guarantee fulfillment of the requirements for receiving job-related notifications. For job-related notifications, Jobs View permission for the target folder and permission to receive event notifications in the individual notification settings are necessary.
