Hello, I’m trying to automate tasks done on software accessed through an online portal.
1- If I used the use application function and clicked on the application am error message pops up stating that the I cant as it is a remote application.
2- If I try and install the UiParth Orchestrator from the Uipath platform installer, I get an error message Uipath Orchestrator Requires IIS 8 or higher.
Can someone please help me with this?
Can you post screenshot(s) of the error and if possible the ‘remote’ part of the online portal you’re trying to automate?
- If it’s an online portal accessible through a web browser, then all the Web activities should work quite reliably unless it’s an applet window of some sort which launches an application out of a browser (e.g. VMWare Service Manager is a virtual ticketing tool that launched out of internet explorer)
- To automate, you just need UiPath Studio. You shouldn’t have to install Orchestrator to achieve expected results for step 1 (unless this is a different installation problem you’re referring to)
UiPath Orchestrator does need IIS 8 to run the application because it runs several components that utilise the IIS services and capabilities.

Are you using Community Edition or is this an issue with your enterprise license?
If you’re using Community edition, using the free cloud orchestrator at cloud.uipath.com should be easy enough to set up.
For enterprise license issues, the UiPath Support team is the best place to contant to get thee issues resolved.
