Automating Certificate Generation and Email Distribution for Course Completion Using UiPath

Use Case Description

Mr. B. Bhuvaneswaran, an Assistant Professor (SG) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, recently handled an Open Elective course, OAI1903-Introduction to Robotic Process Automation, for 120 third-year Computer Science and Engineering students. As the course concluded last semester, he plans to create and distribute certificates to all the students. To achieve this, he needs an automated solution that will take the student names from an Excel file named OAI1903-IRPA-CSE.xlsx, which contains columns like Register No, Student Name, Year, Department, Section, and Email Id. Using this data, the RPA bot will generate certificates using a PowerPoint template named OAI1903-IRPA-CSE.pptx, convert each certificate into a PDF file named according to the student’s roll number (e.g., 210701001.pdf), and compose an email with a personalized message for each student. The email will include the following message:

Hearty congratulations for successfully completing the open elective course on OAI1903-Introduction to Robotic Process Automation (using UiPath Studio) conducted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Rajalakshmi Engineering College between 27^th July to 30^th November, 2023.

2. Excel file (OAI1903-IRPA-CSE.xlsx) with columns: Register No, Student Name, Year, Department, Section, Email Id.

4. SMTP server details for sending emails.
