Auto Updating Client Component fails to upgrade Studio or Robot though enabled.
Error: ErrorType: US_RemoteMsiFileMissing, ErrorTypeArguments: [https://download.uipath.com/versions/xx.xx.x/UiPathStudio.msi]
Resolution:
- Navigate to the failure machine
- Stop the "UiPath Update Service"
- Delete the file from "%programdata%\UiPath\UpdateService\Dbs\OperationDb.db"
- Restart the "UiPath Update Service"
- OPTIONAL: Start the UiPath Studio on the machine to force an immediate check for updates (otherwise, it will take at most one hour for a check update to be performed).
"OperationDb.db" is essentially a database file created by UiPath to keep track of certain operations.
**[Sometimes, there might be an issue with auto-update working from the Orchestrator in UiPath due to potential discrepancies or conflicts with the data stored in this database. Deleting this file can remove any inconsistencies that may prevent the Orchestrator from performing auto-updates.
Once this Operational.db file is deleted, a fresh and new instance of the database is created automatically which could resolve any issues with the auto-update function.
The Operational.db is a local database and is not linked to the Orchestrator's deployment method (Cloud or On Prem). This local database is used for storing temporary logs.
However, care should be taken because by deleting the operational.db file, all the log data will be lost. So it is recommended to create a backup of the file before deleting it.]**
