I am working in construction field and I am learning UiPath to automate some daily tasks. One thing I am very curious about is how UiPath can help with quantity takeoff. Many times we have to read drawings, collect measurements, copy data from PDFs, and put everything into Excel, which takes a lot of time. I want to ask if anyone here has used UiPath for automating part of the quantity takeoff process, like extracting numbers from plans, reading tables from PDFs, or organizing material lists. Even small automation can save many hours. If you have any ideas, examples, or simple workflows to start with, I would be very thankful.

try exploring ixp which would take prompt as input and extract the fields you need from pdf

I will tell you the best approaches.
Try with IXP see if it works well for your use cases.
If not look at Gemini 3 pro or claude models and integrate within UiPath, extract and parse and feed into excel as required.
Most important things is to keep track on cost - always pick the solution that is efficient on quality and cost as well.
