Yes, it can make sense to anonymize sensitive parts of a document before uploading it to Document Understanding, especially if you’re dealing with confidential or regulated data. UiPath does process uploaded documents to improve models, and while anonymization is applied on their side, you might want to ensure compliance with your internal data protection policies.
However, keep in mind that if you anonymize key fields you want to extract the model might not learn properly but you could also use dummy documents.
