Announcing Public Preview: OpenTelemetry Trace Streaming

We’re excited to introduce OpenTelemetry Trace Streaming (Public Preview) — a major step forward in enabling real-time observability and interoperability across your automation and agent ecosystems.

What is OpenTelemetry Trace Streaming?

OpenTelemetry Trace Streaming allows you to stream execution traces from UiPath processes, agents, and orchestrations directly to external observability platforms using the OpenTelemetry standard. This enables seamless integration with your existing telemetry stack, giving you a unified, real-time view of system behavior across tools and environments.

Why it matters: Centralized Telemetry

Modern enterprises rely on multiple systems to operate and monitor their workflows. With OpenTelemetry Trace Streaming, you can:

  • Centralize observability by routing traces into your preferred monitoring platforms (e.g., MLFlow, Arize, Datadog, Grafana, Splunk, etc.)
  • Break down silos between automation, application, and infrastructure telemetry
  • Enable real-time debugging and performance analysis across distributed systems
  • Standardize telemetry data models using OpenTelemetry, reducing vendor lock-in

Powering AgentOps

This capability is especially impactful for AgentOps workflows, where visibility into agent execution is critical. With trace streaming, you can:

  • Track end-to-end agent decision flows and execution paths
  • Monitor latency, failures, and retries across agent steps
  • Correlate agent behavior with upstream/downstream systems

Important Notes

  • If you’re planning to integrate with a specific observability vendor, please check with us first. Some vendors require custom fields, mappings, or authentication configurations to interoperate correctly.
  • The current UI experience is temporary and will be replaced by a unified export interface as we move toward General Availability (GA).
