Agentic Testing with UiPath – Testing AI Agents, Not Just Workflows
I’ve been exploring Agentic Testing in UiPath with a use case around IT Support Ticket Routing.
In traditional RPA testing, we generally validate whether the workflow produces the expected result for a given input.
But with AI Agents, things are different.
An agent can interpret the same type of request in different ways, so simply checking whether the workflow completed successfully isn’t enough. We also need to validate the agent’s decision, output, and behavior.
For this use case, the testing approach includes:
Providing different IT support ticket scenarios as test inputs
Executing the AI Agent against each scenario
Validating the agent’s classification and routing decision
Comparing the actual response with the expected outcome
Testing different variations of the same scenario
Identifying cases where the agent produces an unexpected result
Using test results to evaluate the overall reliability of the agent
The interesting part is that Agentic Testing extends beyond traditional assertion-based testing.
Instead of only asking:
“Did the automation execute successfully?”
we also need to ask:
“Did the agent understand the request and make the correct decision?”
This becomes especially important when building production-ready solutions using UiPath Agents and Agentic Automation.
I’m experimenting with how UiPath Agentic Testing can help bring more structure, repeatability, and confidence to testing AI-driven workflows.
