Trying to understand all the Roles & Permissions stuff. After I install Studio on my desktop and connect to my instance of Orchestrator is there now a new Robot Account created in Admin tab? Or does my User just now have the Robot role added to it? I can’t view what happened at setup, because that was a long time ago, and I’ve fiddled with it a lot since then.
Nothing happens with Studio installation. You won’t be able to connect with Orchestrator until and unless a role and license is assigned to your id.
So first you will have to assign a role and license to your id then connect your newly installed Studio with the Orchestrator. The role assigned will determine which version of the studio to be configured. For example, if your user id have Automation Express license then you would be presented with StudioX. If you have Developer license allocated, you will get Studio. For Attended user license, you will get Studio but only in read only mode. You cannot edit the code.
In summary, you will have to setup your user id role and license first in Orchestrator. Nothing happens in background when you installs the Studio.
