Add one to existing value in Excel sheet

Hi,
I have a large excel sheet with data, and to get an idea about how many rows that is executed, I had the idea to update a specific cell with a value.
I know how to read and write into an xls celle but how do I add +1 to a cell ??
When I do like this, It is not working

I changed the format in xls to numeric and that solved the problem. :smiley:
