Activity Type Into fails when selecting a control from a Chrome browser

Activity Type Into fails with The indicated element does not belong to the target application/browser when selecting a control from a Chrome browser (it fails the same way in Firefox too). I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome browser extension UiPath Web Automation 22.10 to no avail. I saw an older (2020) post on this same issue and none of the few suggestions were helpful.

I was able to find a work-around by changing the UI Framework from “default” to “AA”. If there is no fix for this, and I’ll have to use this work-around, how can I make the UI Framework default to “AA” instead of “default”?

Software:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise 10.0.19044 Build 19044
  • StudioX 2022.10.5 Enterprise License Per-user Installation
  • Chrome Version 111.0.5563.111 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Huh, no edit capability on my posts… Anyway, I misstated: I meant Windows Edge instead of Firefox.

HI,

Can you share if you can select each element in default mode or not? In general, as AA mode is not suite for chrome automation, perhaps you should use default mode with browser extension.

If it seems extension has something wrong, can you check the following document?

Regards,

Thanks for the Chrome Extension Troubleshooting guide.

I enabled extension options:

  • Allow in Incognito
  • Allow access to file URLs

And that seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks!
