Why am I receiving the "ErrorCode:2414" and "ErrorMessage: Action cannot be assigned to this user due to insufficient permissions" when assigning tasks?
Issue Description
Tasks/Actions cannot be assigned due to insufficient permissions, as indicated by error code 2414.
Error code: 2414
Error Message: Action cannot be assigned to this user due to insufficient permissions
Root Cause
The Task admin does not have the right permissions to assign a task or the task receiver does not have the needed permissions to receive the task or does not have access to the folder where the project resides.
Resolution
Assigning the right permissions
Actions are governed by folder level permissions.
Both the user assigning the task and the receiver of the task (assignee), need the appropriate level of permissions for the operation to succeed.
Actions are created within the same folder as the process that generated them. Access to these Actions is restricted to users within that folder.
Via role management from UiPath Orchestrator, make sure that the following permissions are allocated to the users affected by the issues:
- Action Assignment – Create: assign tasks to other users
- Action Assignment – Edit: reassign a task from one user to another
- Action Assignment – Delete: unassign a task from another user
- Action Self Assignment – Create / Edit / Delete: assign a task to yourself, forward a task assigned to you, unassign a task from yourself
Note:
If the task is assigned by a process using the Assign Tasks activity, the robot account running the process needs the permission 'Create' on 'Action Assignments' in the folder where the action is created.
Confirming folder access for the user
Navigate to the Orchestrator folder where the Action is created and check to see if the User is added to the folder.
If the user is not added to the folder, add them.
- Go to Tenant > Folders tab, choose the folder, and click Accounts & Groups.
- Next, click Assign and select the object to be added to the folder.
Note:
If you use the Create Form Task activity and configured a specific Orchestrator folder in the Orchestrator Folder Path property, make sure that the Robot account executing the job has access to the specified folder.
