Action Center Deployment Architecture

Hi Team,
I need to install Action Center customer’s IaaS environment. This would be standalone installation not an Automation Suite installation.

  1. Do I need Action center for Non production ?
  2. Do I need to install action center on 2 VMs (1 Non Prod + 1 Prod) ? In this case how the license distribution will happen ?

HI @SahilAdlakha
1.No, you do not need Action Center for non-production environments. Action Center is primarily used in production environments for managing and automating robot processes. In non-production environments, such as development or testing, you can often work with UiPath Studio and Orchestrator without the need for Action Center. The use of Action Center depends on your specific project requirements and objectives, but it is not a standard component for non-production setups.

  1. You will need separate licenses for both Non-Prod and Prod environments where Action Center is installed, and the license distribution should align with your organization’s licensing agreement with UiPath.

Understood. But -
For development and testing - If a use case requires Action Center. How can we develop and test without it like Document approval, verification etc in unattended bot execution?

Hi @SahilAdlakha ,

I believe you could install the Actions stand alone component in the Non-Prod or Development Servers/Instances also.

The Licensing is handled by the Orchestrator instance, where the Actions need to be pointing to the Orchestrator instance and the allocated Automation Developer license should also be enough for the Developer/Testing purposes,:
