22.10 New Activity Design - no option to fallback?

Hi,

In Studio release 2022.10 UiPath has rolled out a new activity design which is turning out counterproductive. For example, before release 2022.10, for IF activity, “Then-Else” sections were appearing side-by-side however in new design they are sequential which makes it too difficult for developers if they need to constantly compare these two sections. You may see the difference between these yourself - 2022.4 (https://files.readme.io/cf5bc99-image_93.png) vs 2022.10 (https://files.readme.io/2400e18-IfActivity.png). Please note that majority of these developers have wider monitors so it’s much easier for them to scroll horizontally vs scrolling vertically.

What is making this change more painful is that there is no fallback option to the old activity design experience in Studio 22.10. I understand that there cannot be a one-size-fits-all solution here so it would be good if developers can have a choice between what they want to work with, instead of forcing them to follow one design vs another.

Hey @anuj.dwivedi you make some good points here. I think that may be what UiPath was going for when they released Modern vs Classic design.

Totally Agreed. I personally prefer Classic over the modern experience and there should be an option for the developers to choose what they prefer.

You will see an improved design for the if where the sections are collapsable and easy to view in 23.2/23/4.

If you still consider that you need to see the then/else branches in parallel after this update let us know and we will analyze what can be done.

Hi,
collapsable then/else didn’t solve the described issue. It just helped a little bit with orientation in code.
The code readability (especially comparability) in if statements in Studio remains terrible.

Please, just bring back the ability to use the parallel design.

For some reason, UiPath still prefer to put everything in the vertical instead of using a more horizontal approach on some thing, making us scroll all day only to find something.
